Attempting to help a poisoned falcon

Yesterday at noon, a falcon landed in our parking lot! At first sight, it appeared to be well but as time passed it became obvious that it had health problems as it started to lose its ability to fly or even walk. After communicating with a couple of animal protection organizations and the Cretan Forest Protection, we tried to keep it alive until transfer to a specialist was secured. Unfortunately, as we were later informed, the bird did not make it during the transfer.

In any case, if you ever come across an animal in a critical condition please contact one of the following animal protection organizations and they will redirect you to the best possible solution:

Crete Half Marathon - Ημιμαραθώνιος Κρήτης 2016

The Half Marathon, including 10km, 5km and 1km races, is an international event open to all and a unique opportunity for runners from Greece and abroad to participate in an ideal course. It is going to take place on Sunday, 2nd of October 2016 at Arkalochori.

The Half Marathon will be a circle race in the center of Crete passing across some of the most picturesque villages of the municipality Minoa Pediadas and through olive groves and vineyards.  

Ο Σύλλογος ΑΘΛΗ.Σ.Υ διοργανώνει την Κυριακή 02 Οκτωβρίου 2016 για δεύτερη χρονιά τον Ημιμαραθώνιο Κρήτης (21χλμ) και τρίτη χρονιά τους αγώνες δρόμου Arkalochori Street Run 5χλμ - 10χλμ - 1000 μέτρων στο Αρκαλοχώρι Ηρακλείου Κρήτης.
