The "Mediterranean Festival of Arts" in Crete left debts amounting to thousands of euro - “Φέσι” χιλιάδων ευρώ άφησε το Μεσογειακό Φεστιβάλ στην Κρήτη

It was described as "one of the most important cultural events in Europe." It gained the support of Cretan authorities and was adopted by the central Municipalities of the island (with the exception of Chania).

Flashnews.gr reveals that the British company that organized the "Mediterranean Festival of Arts", left debts of over 10,000 of euros in a company in Heraklion.

Indeed, by decision of the magistrate of Heraklion it is prohibited to the Municipalities that participated in the organization to pay any amount owed to the British company until the lawsuit that the Cretan company has filed is brought to the court.

According to the lawsuit, the British company that organized the "Mediterranean Festival of Arts" (and "sold" it to the Cretan Municipalities) signed contract with an Heraklion coach hire company for the transport of hundreds of artists for the period of 23rd of September to 6th of October, 2011.

However, regular transportation occurred only until the 30th of September. After that date the British representatives started the cancellation of routes for each subsequent day and fled abroad. The outcome, as indicated in the lawsuit is a debt of 10,308.99 euro left to the Cretan company.

The lawsuit that the Cretan company filed notes that until the day of the trial, due to interest on deferred payment, and other expenses the amount is expected to reach or exceed the 20,000 euro. The only assets of the British company on Greek soil, are the monetary sums agreed to be paid by the Municipalities involved, thus interlocutory actions must be taken to avoid paying off the British company prior to the trial.

The case is scheduled to go to trial on the 16th of January, 2012. Until then, the Cretan Municipalities are prohibited from paying any amount larger than 11,000 euro each to the British company.

Please note that initially all the central municipalities of Crete were approached by the British representatives of the "Mediterranean Festival of Arts". However, solely the Municipality of Chania  refused to participate in the organization as their proposals were met with some reservation.

An obvious question arises:

In these difficult economic times how much did the "Mediterranean Festival of Arts" cost to the Cretan authorities and what was the amount of money agreed to be paid by the Cretan Municipalities to this British company?

Όμως, το Flashnews.gr αποκαλύπτει πως η Βρεττανική εταιρεία που διοργάνωσε το Μεσογειακό Φεστιβάλ Τεχνών, άφησε «φέσι» άνω των 10.000 ευρώ σε εταιρεία του Ηρακλείου.

Μάλιστα με απόφαση της Ειρηνοδίκη Ηρακλείου, απαγορεύεται στους Δήμους που συμμετείχαν στην διοργάνωση να πληρώσουν την Βρεττανική εταιρεία έως ότου εκδικαστεί η αγωγή που έχει καταθέσει η εταιρεία.

Σύμφωνα με την αγωγή την οποία αποκαλύπτει το Flashnews.gr, η Βρετανική εταιρεία που διοργάνωσε το Μεσογειακό Φεστιβάλ Τεχνών (και το «πούλησε» στους Δήμους) υπέγραψε σύμβαση με Ηρακλειώτικη εταιρεία ενοικίασης πούλμαν για τις μεταφορές των εκατοντάδων καλλιτεχνών στο διάστημα από 23/9 έως 6/10.

Όμως ενώ οι μεταφορές εγίνοντο κανονικά μέχρι και τις 30/9, ξαφνικά από εκείνο το βράδυ και στην συνέχεια εκπρόσωποι των Βρεττανών άρχισαν να ακυρώνουν τα δρομολόγια της κάθε επόμενης ημέρας με κατάληξη, όπως αναγράφεται στην αγωγή να την «κοπανήσουν» στο εξωτερικό αφήνοντας φέσι στην εταιρεία ύψους 10.308,99 ευρώ.

Στην αγωγή, η εταιρεία, αφού επισημαίνει ότι μέχρι την εκδίκαση της υπόθεσης, λόγω των τόκων υπερημερίας κλπ εξόδων το πόσό ανεμένεται να φτάσει ή και να υπερβεί τις 20.000 ευρώ και επειδή, τα μόνα περιουσιακά στοιχεία της Βρεττανικής εταιρείας σε Ελληνικό έδαφος, είναι τα χρηματικά ποσά που έχει συμφωνήσει να της καταβάλλουν οι δήμοι που συμμετείχαν, ζητά την λήψη ασφαλιστικών μέτρων και την απαγόρευση στους Δήμους να πληρώσουν την Βρετανική εταιρεία.

Η Ειρηνοδίκης Ηρακλείου αφενός όρισε την εκδίκαση της υπόθεσης στις 16 Ιανουαρίου 2012 και παράλληλα απαγορεύει στους Δήμους που οφείλουν χρήματα στους Βρετανούς να καταβάλλουν πιστώσεις έως 11.000 ευρώ ο καθένας έως ότου εκδικαστεί η αγωγή.

Να σημειωθεί πως οι εκπρόσωποι της Βρετανικής εταιρείας που διοργάνωσε το «Μεσογειακό Φεστιβάλ Τεχνών» είχαν προσεγγίσει όλους τους κεντρικούς Δήμους της Κρήτης και μόνο ο Δήμος Χανίων αρνήθηκε να συμμετάσχει στην διοργάνωση, καθώς, σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες, υπήρχαν επιφυλάξεις .

Όμως δοθείσης της ευκαιρίας προκύπτει και το εύλογο ερώτημα:

Σε αυτούς τους χαλεπούς καιρους και με την οικονομική κρίση που μαστίζει και τους Δήμους, πόσο κόστισε στην αυτοδιοίκηση της Κρήτης το «Φεστιβάλ» και σε ποιο ύψος έφτασαν τα χρήματα που συμφώνησε να εισπράξει από τους Δήμους η εν λόγω Βρετανική εταιρεία;

Mediterranean Festival of Arts Crete 2011 - Μεσογειακό φεστιβάλ Τεχνών στη Κρήτη 2011

The festival will be held in Heraklion, Hersonissos, Rethymno, Chania, Ag. Nikolaos, Neapoli, Ierapetra and Timbaki from 25th September to 5th October 2011. The main goal of the Festival is not just to promote the rich historical and cultural heritage of Crete and Greece at large, but also the contribution of Crete and the Hellenic Republic as a whole to the spiritual development of mankind. Our purpose is to make Heraklion and Crete an influential cultural center of not only of the Mediterranean region, but of the entire world. Within the Festival program there will be held concerts of classical and folk music, performances by ballet and folk dance companies.

The culmination of the Festival will be the Cretan premiere of the great opera Idomeneo, King of Crete, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with the participation of well-known international singers.

The central event of the Mediterranean Festival of Arts 2011 will be the first-ever Crete International Tattoo. Tattoos, these spectacular pageants which blend various genres of military, classical and folk music and dance along with drill teams' displays, historical recreations etc., have long been held in many countries. The oldest and most famous among them is the Edinburgh Tattoo in Scotland, and one of the most successful events of this kind, according to both experts and audiences, was the Kremlin Zoria held in Moscow's Red Square in 2007. In fact, the Crete Tattoo is created by the same team which established the Zoria and made it happen.

The Crete Tattoo, the first of its kind to be held not just on that island, but in Greece at large, is dedicated to the 2,500th anniversary of the Battle of Marathon, the great victory of the Greek people and the entire Western civilization, and to the 70th jubilee of the heroic defense of Crete against Nazi invaders in 1941.

Στην Κρήτη, "την καρδιά της Μεσογείου" από τις 25 Σεπτεμβρίου έως τις 2 Οκτωβρίου περισσότεροι από 1000 καλλιτέχνες, από 14 χώρες θα παρουσιάσουν περίπου 50 εκδηλώσεις σε Ηράκλειο, Χερσόνησσο, Ρέθυμνο, Χανιά, Άγιο Νικόλαο, Νεάπολη, Ιεράπετρα και Τυμπάκι, στο πλαίσιο του πρώτου "Μεσογειακού Φεστιβάλ Τεχνών".

Στην Κρήτη, τον τόπο που ο Μότσαρντ εμπνεύστηκε το έργο του "Ιντομενέο, Ρε Ντι Κρέτα" και το ιστορικό φρούριο Φορτέτζα, καλλιτέχνες από Ελλάδα, Αυστρία, Ολλανδία, Γερμανία, όπως και η Κρατική Ακαδημαϊκή Καπέλλα του Γιουρλώφ από τη Ρωσία θα παρουσιάσουν τη γνωστή Όπερα του Αυστριακού καλλιτέχνη.

Γυναίκες του Λυκείου Ελληνίδων Ηρακλείου έχουν σχεδιάσει τα ρούχα της παράστασης, πιστές στις υποδείξεις της Μινωϊκής παράδοσης. 

Είναι η πρώτη φορά παγκοσμίως που διοργανώνεται ένα τέτοιο Φεστιβάλ, σε νησί. Όλα τα άλλα διοργανώνονται σε πόλεις όπως η Αβινιόν ή το Εδιμβούργο.

Εννιακόσιοι μουσικοί, στρατιωτικές και πολιτικές ορχήστρες, χορευτές και σημαιοφόροι συναπατρίζουν τη μουσική εκδήλωση, Crete International Tattoo. Με παρελάσεις στους δρόμους και
τις πλατείες των μεγαλύτερων πόλεων της Κρήτης οι μουσικοί θα σκορπίσουν τις μελωδίες τους για την συμπλήρωση των 70 χρόνων από τη Μάχη της Κρήτης και τα 2500 χρόνια της Μάχης του Μαραθώνα.

Στον καθεδρικό ναό του Αγίου Μηνά Ηρακλείου θα πραγματοποιηθεί μεικτή συναυλία ορθόδοξης μουσικής με τη συμμετοχή του Αρχιεπισκόπου της Κρήτης κ. Ειρηναίου, της Κρατικής Ακαδημαϊκής Καπέλλας του Γιουρλώφ, αλλά και των πιο γνωστών χορωδιών βυζαντινής μουσικής της Κρήτης.

Αστέρες του μπαλέτου από το Θέατρο Μπολσόι, το Κόβεντ Γκάρντεν του Λονδίνου, τη Μεγάλη Όπερα του Παρισιού και την ‘Οπερα του Βερολίνου ενώνουν τις εμπειρίες τους και παρουσιάζουν στο κοινό τις μοναδικές συνθέσεις τους.

Παραδοσιακοί χοροί, μεσαιωνική και κλασσική μουσική περιλαμβάνονται επίσης στις εκδηλώσεις που τελούν υπό την αιγίδα της Περιφέρειας Κρήτης.
