Homemade Cretan orange pie - Σπιτική κρητική πορτοκαλόπιτα!!!
This is a recipe for Cretan orange pie (portokalopita) without philo (pastry)!
Ingredients:
3 glasses flour
2 glasses sugar
2 glasses orange juice
1 glass olive oil
1 shot cognac
zest from 2 oranges
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon
cinnamon
1 glass =
330ml
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180 C using air circulation mode (fan).
Mix baking
powder with flower.
In a large
bowl beat the olive oil and sugar with a mixer until it becomes fluffy.
Then add
orange zest, cognac and cinnamon. Continue beating until incorporated.
Dissolve
baking soda in orange juice and add it to the mix.
Add the
flour and mix it.
Grease
three 20cm diameter disposable trays and pour in the mixture.
Bake each
tray separately for 50 minutes.
